5.2 Quality Inspection
Depending on the product, L’OREAL may request that a quality inspection is carried out by the supplier, independent from the supplier quality controls, by an independent laboratory chosen by L’OREAL.
The below rules and process must apply whenever a quality inspection is required.
5.2.1Definitions
The quality inspection involves a careful examination of the product with reference to the specification sheet and an approved reference sample.
Defects are classed into four categories defined below:
1/ Zero defect
These defects may:
o generate a security or health risk for the consumer,
o result in non-conformity to the law.
These defects are not acceptable. If any are found and production must proceed,
there must be an individual product inspection prior to dispatch.
2 / Critical defect
Critical defects may:
o make the product unusable;
o be highly detrimental to the brand
e.g.: Incomplete construction, inverted logo or illegible logo applied on the outside
of the product
